Christmas chocolate habits
Brits buy approximately 47 million tubs of chocolates, sweets and biscuits each Christmas. 71% of UK adults will accumulate at least one plastic tub filled with chocolates or sweets during the Christmas season.
50% of people in the UK say they purchase chocolate tubs specifically because they are great for sharing with family and friends. Despite price increases pushing the average cost of seasonal chocolate tubs above £5 for the first time in 2025 — and pack sizes shrinking by 5% — sales still rose by 19% in the four weeks leading up to Christmas.
Asda's reach
Almost a quarter of all British shoppers consider buying a chocolate tub to be an essential Christmas tradition, drawing an additional one million shoppers into the category in recent years.
