Argos has launched its Black Friday sale early, offering discounts on a range of televisions powered by the Freely platform. The sale comes ahead of the official Black Friday date later this month.
Freely platform explained
Freely uses an internet connection to stream content to the screen, rather than relying on a traditional aerial. It offers live and on-demand shows, movies and sports, with over 60 channels currently available. More channels are expected to join the platform in the future.
The service is comparable to Sky Glass, which also uses the internet instead of an over-the-air signal. Sky provides more channels and additional features such as recordings, but requires a subscription, whereas Freely is free to use.
Available deals
Early offers include a 40-inch Bush model priced at £149, saving £30. A 40-inch Hisense Full HD TV is reduced by £30 to £199, and a 50-inch display is now £269, which is 10 per cent off.
Other discounted models include a 43-inch Hisense Freely TV at £249, described as the lowest ever price, and a 65-inch Hisense Freely TV at £459, saving £40.
Alternative option
For those seeking more content, the Sky Glass Gen 2 remains an option. According to a review, this TV has improved since the Gen 1 release, offering better visuals and easier ways to find content. Sky Glass Gen 2 starts from £14 per month, though premium content and channel bundles cost extra.
