Aldi brings back popular £11.99 Godfather steak for Father's Day

Aldi is set to reintroduce its cult favourite Godfather steak, a 28oz British rump steak aged for 21 days, priced at £11.99. The supermarket announced the return of the 794g cut as part of its Father's Day meat collection, hitting stores from 15 June.

The steak has previously gained a devoted following among Aldi customers, with shoppers expressing excitement on social media. One fan wrote on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook page: 'OMG, I loved this last year. Might have 2 this year.' Another said: 'Oooooo love too get me gums round that.'

Alongside the Godfather steak, Aldi is introducing a new Flat Iron Man Steak, priced at £15.99 per kilogram, described as a showstopper for barbecues and family gatherings. The supermarket is also bringing back its Specially Selected Wagyu Bone-In Sirloin at £34.99 per kilogram.

A new addition to the range is the Specially Selected Bourbon Beef Short Rib, priced at £11.99 per kilogram, slow-cooked in a bourbon barbecue sauce. To complement the meats, Aldi offers sides such as Skin On Beef Dripping Chips and Cavolo Nero.

The Father's Day range is available from 15 June, subject to availability, across Aldi stores nationwide.
