Aldi has confirmed the first 10 locations across the UK where it will open new stores in 2027. They are among 40 towns and cities where the German-owned grocery chain says it will add new branches next year as part of a recently announced £900m expansion.
Locations announced
The first confirmed locations for new Aldi stores in 2027 are: Angel, North London; Bridgend, South Wales; Clapham, South London; Exmouth, Devon; Halifax, West Yorkshire; Haywards Heath, West Sussex; Ivybridge, Devon; Kew, South West London; Ryde, Isle of Wight; and Winnersh, Berkshire.
The UK's fourth biggest grocer by market share already has just under 1,100 stores and has previously set a target to have 1,500 over time. It is on course to open 30 stores over the next 10 weeks, including in Dumbarton, Newport and Willesden, London.
Investment and ambition
Aldi claims its roll-out of stores is focused on communities that do not have easy access to affordable groceries because of a lack of local choice or competition.
Jonathan Neale, managing director of national real estate at Aldi UK, said: "We're continuing to invest significantly across the UK as we progress towards our long-term ambition of 1,500 Aldi stores.
"These new locations are part of our £900million investment programme for 2027 and will help us bring Aldi's award-winning quality and unbeatable value to even more communities. We're excited to take the next step in our expansion plans and look forward to welcoming customers through the doors of these new stores in the years ahead."
Financial results
Aldi recently announced the 40 new store target for 2027 alongside its annual results for 2025, showing sales rose 5% to a record £19bn. Profits were down slightly, at just under £433m.
Aldi said it has pumped £340m into reducing prices on more than 1,000 products, including orange juice, butter, fresh meat and frozen fish. It added that it had also spent £14bn with British suppliers in 2025.
