Aldi has announced the full list of 16 new stores set to open in the coming months as part of its expansion plans across the UK.
New Locations
The budget supermarket will open new branches in Watford and Hoxton in London, Hattersley in Greater Manchester, Balsall Common in the West Midlands, and other locations including Newport, Orpington, Ashford, Rayleigh, Marble Arch, Malton, Port Talbot, Sutton Coldfield, Wigan, and Sudbury.
Aldi currently operates over 1,080 stores nationwide, with long-term plans to reach 1,500. The latest openings are part of a £370 million investment in new stores during 2026.
Investment and Commitment
Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, said: “At Aldi, we’re committed to making high-quality, affordable food accessible to everyone, which is why we continue to invest in expanding our store network across the UK. Our £370 million investment in new stores this year will help us bring Aldi’s unbeatable value to even more communities, supporting local economies through our industry-leading pay for colleagues.”
Store Upgrades and Price Cuts
Earlier this month, Aldi also announced plans to upgrade 25 stores across the UK this summer. Changes include more shopping space and sustainable features like energy-efficient fridge doors. The supermarket will also upgrade its bakery, health and beauty, and fresh food areas in select locations.
Additionally, Aldi has introduced price cuts on over 200 products, including fresh and frozen food, cupboard staples, and household essentials. So far in 2026, Aldi has invested over £200 million in price reductions, including £60 million introduced this week.
Customers are advised to shop around for the best prices, as reductions do not guarantee the cheapest option.
