Aldi reveals 10 new UK store locations for 2027

Aldi has revealed 10 towns and cities that will get new stores next year as part of a £900m investment programme. The German supermarket chain, which has some 1,000 stores across the UK, has a long-term ambition of expanding its estate to 1,500 across the country.

Locations for 2027

As part of efforts to grow its footprint in the UK, Aldi plans to open 40 new stores across the UK in 2027, while continuing to invest in its distribution network. The first locations confirmed for new Aldi stores in 2027 are:

  • Halifax, West Yorkshire

Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, said: "We're continuing to invest significantly across the UK as we progress towards our long-term ambition of 1,500 Aldi stores.

"These new locations are part of our £900 million investment programme for 2027 and will help us bring Aldi's award-winning quality and unbeatable value to even more communities.

"We're excited to take the next step in our expansion plans and look forward to welcoming customers through the doors of these new stores in the years ahead."

Annual trading update

That announcement came after Aldi’s annual trading update earlier this week, in which the retail chain set out further investment in new stores, continued price reductions and more long-term deals with British suppliers.

Giles Hurley, Chief Executive Officer for Aldi UK and Ireland, said: "We’re working hard to make good food more affordable for every family - cutting prices on everyday essentials, signing long-term supplier agreements to help increase home-grown production, and continuing to bring affordable groceries to even more communities through our store opening programme.

"This is why more customers are buying more products at Aldi - our relentless focus on simple, everyday low prices and award-winning quality."
