Aldi has reduced the price of its Specially Selected Prosecco to £5.49 for 24 hours following England's World Cup quarter-final victory over Mexico. If England go on to win the tournament, the price will fall to just £3.99.
Promotional pricing structure
The promotional prices are available for 24 hours within 48 hours of each match, after which the wine returns to its standard retail price of £7.99. Following a quarter-final win, the prosecco drops to £5.49; after a semi-final win, it falls to £4.49; and if England win the World Cup, it will be just £3.99.
England secured a thrilling 3-2 win over Mexico, with Jude Bellingham scoring twice and Harry Kane converting a penalty. The Three Lions will now face Norway at 10pm BST on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in Miami. The match was delayed by an hour due to severe weather.
Earlier reductions
The prosecco, which normally retails at £7.99, has already been reduced as England progressed through the tournament: £6.99 after group stage qualification, £5.99 after a Round of 32 win, and now £5.49 after a Round of 16 victory.
Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: "We know many shoppers will be getting together with friends and family to watch England throughout the World Cup, so we wanted to make those celebrations even more affordable. With every England victory, shoppers will unlock even bigger savings on our Specially Selected Prosecco."
Availability and exclusions
The promotion is available in Aldi stores nationwide. However, pricing in Scotland differs from the quarter-final stage onwards due to the country's Minimum Unit Pricing legislation. The offer applies exclusively to Aldi's Specially Selected Prosecco and will run throughout England's participation in the tournament.
Aldi describes the product as a "fresh, smooth sparkling wine with fruit and floral notes."
