Aldi has launched a Collapsible Laundry Basket priced at £8.99, undercutting similar products at Argos and B&Q. The item, part of the supermarket's Special Buys range, is available in blue or grey across its more than 1,000 stores.
Design and Features
The basket features a collapsible design, soft-grip carry handles, and an approximate 45-litre capacity. Aldi describes it as offering "organised genius," with a modern look that can be folded down for storage when not in use.
In its product description, Aldi said: "From overflowing laundry pile to organised genius in seconds. Just don't expect it to do the washing for you."
Price Comparison with Argos and B&Q
Argos stocks a nearly identical Collapsible Laundry Basket from Harbour Housewares for £12.99, £4 more than Aldi's version. The Argos product has a 42-litre capacity and two moulded handles, with a description noting its "hardwearing plastic and rubber materials" and collapsible functionality for space-saving storage.
B&Q's Large Collapsible Laundry Basket is priced at £14.99. Its description highlights the ability to fold flat, manufactured from "durable TPR + PP quality," and collapses from 21cm to 7.5cm for compact storage.
Availability and Delivery
The Aldi basket is available for in-store collection only, with no home delivery option. Shoppers can check stock levels via the online store finder. Both the Argos and B&Q versions can be delivered to customers' doors.
