Manchester United are reportedly preparing a €60million (£51m) bid for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery. Old Trafford bosses first explored signing the player in 2023 when he was 17, and he now appears to be a potential third midfield acquisition this summer.
Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans have already arrived for a combined £85m, with AS Roma's Manu Kone and Bournemouth's Alex Scott emerging as further targets. With Sandro Tonali, Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes commanding sizeable fees, United will likely need to spend heavily for another signing, though Zaire-Emery could be the answer.
Zaire-Emery's PSG situation
The 20-year-old has found himself on the periphery at PSG, which may aid United in negotiations. According to French outlet Top Mercato, he is held in high esteem at the club, and a €60million (£51m) approach is being 'prepared' to test PSG's willingness to sell. The report states the European champions value him closer to €80m (£68m).
Zaire-Emery made 54 appearances during the 2025/26 season and added 109 minutes of World Cup football for France. Whether he would leave the French capital is uncertain, having featured prominently in midfield and at right-back. Injuries to Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi provided him extra playing time, but Luis Enrique returned him to the bench once those players regained fitness and for PSG's crucial fixtures.
United's other targets
Forwards have also been examined, with Everton's Iliman Ndiaye and Crysencio Summerville emerging as potential acquisitions. Summerville appeared destined for AS Roma but instead joined Saudi Pro League outfit Al Hilal after their €80m (£68m) offer was accepted.
United's interest in the Dutch winger had diminished, with any transfer dependent on Marcus Rashford's future. He appears set to remain at his boyhood club, with Barcelona completing permanent deals for Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi.
United begin their 2026/27 season away to newly-promoted Hull City. Pre-season preparations have commenced, with Rashford potentially featuring in friendlies after his post-World Cup break.
