Krispy Kreme has issued an urgent recall of its Pitch Perfect and Matchday Dozen doughnuts after they were found to contain an undisclosed hazelnut allergen. The football-themed treats were launched to celebrate this year's World Cup, but certain batches contain hazelnut fillings not declared on the label.
Affected Products and Stores
The recall applies to individual Pitch Perfect Doughnuts purchased on June 19 or 20, and Matchday Dozen 12-packs with best-before dates of June 21 and June 22. These products were sold at Krispy Kreme shops in Peterborough, Peterborough Queensgate, Leicester, Nottingham, Ipswich, Norwich, and Cambridge.
Customer Refund Process
Customers seeking a refund should contact Krispy Kreme by phone or email, providing details of where the product was bought, a photo, and the batch number. In a statement, the company said: 'Krispy Kreme takes its responsibilities to consumers extremely seriously and always aims to ensure the highest possible standards of product safety. We are sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment this product recall may cause.'
Other World Cup-Themed Products
Walkers, an official sponsor of the tournament, has launched three new crisp flavours: English Bangers & Mash, Wavy Spanish Queso, and Max Portuguese Chorizo and Onion. PepsiCo is also introducing World Cup flavours for Doritos (Mexican Beef Tacos) and Wotsits (Smokin' Cheese, in football-shaped Golden Balls packaging).
