Halifax has clarified the process for customers seeking replacement debit or credit cards without visiting a branch. The bank confirmed that replacements can be requested via mobile app or online banking, available 24/7.
A customer recently asked on social media: 'Is there any way to get a replacement debit card for an account I haven't used for a while without visiting a branch?' Halifax responded that a branch visit is not required, but noted it cannot check account details via social media, directing the customer to contact the team directly.
To order a replacement card online, customers must have a registered UK address. The new card is typically delivered within five working days. For debit cards, new card details can be viewed in the app the following day. For credit cards, existing details remain usable for online or phone payments while waiting.
If a customer needs the card sent to a different address than on their statement, they must visit a branch. The bank also advises verifying the address matches statements before confirming the order.
