Former football manager Harry Redknapp faced an unwelcome surprise when a 50ft racing yacht veered off course and crashed into the jetty of his brand-new £5m Sandbanks home.
The dramatic incident occurred in Poole Harbour, Dorset, where the runaway vessel collided with the bottom of Redknapp's garden. Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud crunch as the yacht made impact with the luxury property's waterfront structure.
Local marine authorities were quickly on the scene to assess the damage and secure the vessel. While no injuries were reported, the collision left visible damage to both the yacht and Redknapp's pristine jetty.
The 77-year-old football personality, who only recently moved into the exclusive Sandbanks property, was said to be shocked but unharmed by the unexpected maritime intrusion.
This isn't the first time the affluent Sandbanks area has seen boating mishaps. The peninsula, known for its celebrity residents and multi-million pound properties, frequently experiences marine traffic due to its prime coastal location.
Marine investigators are now working to determine what caused the yacht to lose control and crash into one of Britain's most expensive residential streets.
