Trump Tower in Australia to Become Country's Tallest Building

The Trump Organization has announced plans to build its first tower in Australia, a A$1.5 billion ($1.06 billion) skyscraper on the Gold Coast that is set to become the nation's tallest building. The 91-storey development will be located in Surfers Paradise, Queensland.

Local developer Altus Property Group confirmed the project will include a six-star resort hotel, 270 luxury apartments, retail outlets, a beach club, and a swimming pool. Altus CEO David Young said he had pursued the development for nearly 20 years, initially contacting Ivanka Trump in 2007.

Young stated that the final agreement was signed with the Trump Organization at Mar-a-Lago on 14 February. The building will be Australian-owned and Australian-built, adhering to Trump design requirements. Apartment prices are expected to start at A$5 million.
