Royal Mail has updated its list of delivery disruptions, warning 105 UK postcodes that they may experience delays to letters and parcels this week. The postal service typically aims to deliver to all addresses six days a week, but local issues have caused temporary setbacks.
Last week, 146 postcodes were affected, including areas in Dundee, Hull, Penarth, Shrewsbury and Glasgow. Over the weekend, Royal Mail's air and road services operated as scheduled, but the Nottingham Mail Centre did not process or dispatch all mail on time.
Royal Mail stated: 'Some mail posted in the DE and NG postcode areas on Friday, for delivery in other parts of the UK on Saturday, may be delayed.' As of Monday 16 February, 38 delivery offices have reported delays impacting 105 postcodes across the UK.
The company explained that in a small number of local offices, deliveries may temporarily not be possible due to high levels of sick absence, resourcing issues or other local factors. In such cases, Royal Mail rotates deliveries to minimise delays and provides targeted support to restore service standards.
Royal Mail apologised for any inconvenience and thanked customers for their understanding. The full list of affected postcodes is available on the Royal Mail website, which is updated daily.
