Everton Agree £24m Tyrique George Transfer from Chelsea

Everton have reached an agreement with Chelsea for the permanent transfer of England Under-21 international winger Tyrique George, the ECHO can reveal. The deal is valued at £24m, with an initial £18m payment and up to £6m in performance-related add-ons. A 15% sell-on clause has also been included in the agreement.

Deal Details and Add-ons

The add-ons are contingent on both George's individual success and the team's achievements at Everton. The 20-year-old is expected to become the club's third summer signing, following the permanent acquisition of Merlin Rohl from Freiburg for £18m and the £16.5m deal for Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough, which could rise to nearly £25m.

Loan to Permanent Move

George spent the second half of last season on loan at Everton from Chelsea, making 11 appearances with one start. Despite limited game time, he made a positive impression at Finch Farm and impressed manager David Moyes with his cameo performances. The ECHO reported in May that Everton were keen to explore a permanent move if Chelsea were open to renegotiating the option-to-buy terms in the loan agreement.

Medical and Contract

Barring any late hitches, George is set to undergo a medical and sign a long-term contract with Everton. He is expected to be confirmed as an Everton player in time for the return of senior players to pre-season testing on Friday.
