Television presenter Rochelle Humes has shared an exciting update on the construction of her dream 'forever home' with husband Marvin, suggesting the long-awaited project may finally be completed next year.
A Three-Year Labour of Love
The couple, who purchased the property three years ago, embarked on an ambitious journey to build their perfect family residence from the ground up. In June 2023, they publicly announced they were creating their forever home after making the surprising decision to move out of their £3.3million north London family abode.
Rochelle recently took to her Instagram Stories to document what she described as her final visit to the property for the year. The update provided followers with a revealing glimpse into the current state of the build, showing that while the house remains very much a shell, significant progress is being made.
Current Progress and Future Timeline
During her site visit, Rochelle showed that windows and a front door still need to be added, but key rooms including the bathroom are beginning to take shape. This marks considerable progress from the start of the year, when the property was little more than bricks and scaffolding.
The star has enlisted the expertise of architectural designer Sal O'Connor to help bring her vision for the dream property to life. In her social media posts, Rochelle hinted at an accelerated timeline, writing: 'In the next two weeks all windows will be in and in the new year things will look a lot different.'
This suggests that 2026 could be the year the family finally moves into their completed forever home, exactly three years after they first purchased the property.
The Journey to Their Dream Home
The couple's decision to build came somewhat unexpectedly. Rochelle previously explained on Instagram that they received an unexpected offer on their previous house which prompted the life-changing decision.
She described the move as completely 'out of the blue' but expressed excitement about the opportunity to create something special in an area they 'have always loved so badly'.
The family has been living in a rental property while construction continues, with Rochelle joking that she and Marvin are 'definitely a little bit gypsy at heart' when it comes to their love of moving and new adventures.
Despite the temporary accommodation, the couple has ensured stability for their children, keeping them in the same school and remaining in the same general area as their previous home. Rochelle has emphasised that this new build represents their promised 'forever home', marking what they hope will be the final move in their property journey.
