Manchester United are in talks to sign Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba, with a bid worth up to £65 million tabled. The offer includes £60 million upfront and £5 million in add-ons.
United's Long-Standing Interest
United looked at Baleba last summer but were put off by Brighton's £100 million price tag. The 22-year-old struggled last season, making just 23 starts for Fabian Hurzeler's side in the Premier League. Despite this, United have reignited their interest this summer.
Fan Poll on the Transfer
This is not a knee-jerk move given United's long-standing interest in the youngster. However, adding a 22-year-old to an already relatively young pool of midfield options raises questions. At £65 million, Baleba would not be cheap, but he would be significantly cheaper than if he had moved to Old Trafford last summer.
Fans are being asked to weigh up the pros and cons and vote in a poll on whether Baleba should be United's third midfield signing of the summer.
