Manchester Mum Uncovers Hidden Safe in Shop Formerly Shut by Police
Mum Finds Hidden Safe in Shop Closed by Police

Sally Rose Sanders, a mother of two from Manchester, has made a startling discovery while renovating a new shop for her aesthetics business expansion. The premises, previously occupied by Butthills Convenience, was closed down by police in August 2025 over suspected drug dealing, with cannabis seized worth an estimated £2,500 to £3,000.

Unexpected Find During Renovation

After acquiring the keys to the adjacent shop, Sally began work on transforming the space. Her plan includes adding two new clinic rooms at the front and an education centre at the back for delivering Ofqual-regulated qualifications. However, the renovation took an unexpected turn when workers uncovered a hidden safe beneath the floorboards.

Social Media Buzz and Public Reaction

A video posted on Sally's TikTok account, @srosecosmetics_, shows a man ripping up the floor and kneeling next to the revealed hole. Sally explained in the video, "We have found a safe under the floors in the new renovation. The place before us was actually shut down for doing illegal activities from the premises so stay tuned, we're going to try and get it open."

The video quickly garnered attention, with many viewers urging her to open the safe. Comments ranged from enthusiastic encouragement to sceptical remarks about its contents. One person exclaimed, "Sod the shop. get that bloody safe open!" while another noted, "I've only come to see what's in the safe." A third commenter suggested, "There’s probably nothing inside, they’re emptied regularly," referencing similar setups in retail environments.

Background of the Shop and Business Expansion

Sally owns S Rose Cosmetics, which offers aesthetic treatments such as semi-permanent makeup, facials, and advanced injectables. The business already provides Advanced Aesthetics levels 3-7, Level 4 Micropigmentation, and Level 5 Diploma in Education, along with certified courses in IV Drip Therapy. The expansion into the neighbouring shop was prompted by its closure after police action during an Oasis concert at Heaton Park on July 19, 2025.

In response to the online interest, Sally announced plans to investigate further, stating, "A camera is going to be put down tomorrow" to explore the safe's interior. The discovery has added an element of mystery to her business venture, blending renovation efforts with public intrigue over what might lie hidden in the safe from the shop's controversial past.
