Shark Tank's Maxine Horne Sells Noosa Beach House for Record $28.5M
Maxine Horne sells Noosa property for record $28.5 million

Shark Tank Australia star and business magnate Maxine Horne has secured a monumental property triumph, offloading her ultra-luxurious beachfront mansion in Queensland's Noosa for a staggering reported $28.5 million.

A Strategic Investment Yields Massive Returns

The 62-year-old co-founder of the Vita Group made a savvy move in 2023, purchasing a vacant plot of land in the coveted Sunrise Beach area for $12.5 million. She then embarked on constructing a spectacular three-level investment property, named 'Maravilla', which was completed just before its sale this month.

While official sale documents remain confidential, a selling agent confirmed to The Courier-Mail that the deal represents the highest property price achieved in the region for 2025. This surpasses the previous high set in July, when a luxury home in nearby Noosa Heads sold for $26.845 million.

Inside the Multi-Million Dollar 'Maravilla' Estate

The sprawling residence, a mere stone's throw from the ocean, was designed to capitalise on its breathtaking panoramic views. Soaring ceilings and vast picture windows are featured throughout the six-bedroom, six-bathroom home.

The resort-style amenities are extensive:

  • A dedicated wellness zone with a gym, plunge bath, spa, and a five-seat infrared sauna.
  • An entertainment level with a wet bar, wine cellar, and access to manicured gardens.
  • A master bedroom suite occupying an entire corner of one floor, complete with a dressing room and opulent en suite.
  • A top-floor kitchen and dining area that opens to a pool deck and covered terrace, adjoining an infinity pool with built-in custom daybeds.

High-end finishes, including French oak, grey marble, and polished rendered walls, add to the property's lavish appeal.

From Tech Retail Pioneer to Property Power Player

Horne, a Queensland-based entrepreneur with an estimated net worth of $900 million, is no stranger to high-stakes deals. She rose to prominence after opening her first Fone Zone mobile phone shop on the Gold Coast in 1995, building the Vita Group into a company generating $875 million in annual earnings.

She sold the group's IT interests to Telstra for $110 million in 2021, before the remaining business was acquired by Sonic Healthcare in 2024. Horne's appearance on the 2024 reboot of Shark Tank Australia further cemented her profile as a leading investor.

This latest sale underscores her significant real estate portfolio. Last year, she sold a Brisbane home in New Farm for $18 million, having bought it for $10.5 million in 2016. She still retains another property in Brisbane's Newstead, valued at $5.125 million.

The Noosa property was initially passed in at auction on December 6, but a private sale was successfully negotiated shortly after construction was finished, marking a highly profitable exit for the seasoned businesswoman.
