Former Manchester United and Chelsea striker Mark Hughes has placed his spectacular Cheshire mansion on the market for the third time, with an asking price of £5.5 million.
A Football Legend's Luxury Pad
The Welsh football icon, who enjoyed a celebrated playing career before moving into management, is selling the expansive property which spans an impressive 8,892 square feet and sits on approximately two acres of land in one of Cheshire's most exclusive areas.
Hughes, 62, made over 450 appearances for Manchester United across two spells at the club, scoring 161 goals. After his initial breakthrough in the early 1980s, he returned to Old Trafford in 1988 following periods with European giants Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Inside the Multi-Million Pound Property
Estate agents are marketing the home as an expansive, design-led family home with a luxury leisure suite in a prestigious Cheshire location.
The magnificent residence boasts six bedrooms and an astonishing seven bathrooms, alongside a host of premium amenities designed for luxury living.
Key features of the property include:
- An indoor swimming pool, spa, and gym
- A private tennis court and golf green
- A state-of-the-art cinema room
- A separate one-bedroom annexe
- Smart home system and underfloor heating throughout
The Footballer Belt Location
The mansion is situated within Cheshire's famous 'Golden Triangle', often referred to as the 'Footballer Belt' due to its popularity with Premier League stars.
This affluent five-mile stretch has been home to numerous football celebrities, including Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk, and former stars Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kevin De Bruyne.
Hughes, who currently manages National League side Carlisle United, has tried to sell the property twice before, most recently in 2020. His managerial career has included roles with the Welsh national team, Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City, Fulham, and Southampton.
The former striker's decision to relist the property comes after he took over at Carlisle United in February this year, shortly before the club suffered relegation from League Two, ending their 20-year stay in the Football League.
