Mani's Stockport home listed for £1.05m

The former Stockport home of Stone Roses bassist Gary 'Mani' Mounfield has been listed for sale at £1.05 million. The five-bedroom semi-detached property on Parsonage Road in Heaton Moor, Greater Manchester, is now on the market.

Family home with memories

Mani and his wife Imelda moved into the house in 2014, where they raised their twin sons. Imelda died in 2023 aged 50 following a battle with cancer, while Mani passed away in November 2025 aged 63.

Estate agents John Mellor describe the three-bathroom home as one that "oozes with the charm and character of its era." Protected by an electric gate, the property spans four floors and includes a series of cellar rooms.

Decision to sell

Michael Ryder, Mani's brother-in-law and guardian to the 13-year-old twins, said the decision to sell wasn't easy but believes it's the right time for the family to move forward. "We had a lot of great memories in the house. There were some good parties there. It is a lovely house, but life changes. It is time to move on," he said.

Mani died in his sleep of respiratory issues following a long battle with emphysema. Michael explained the house now holds "sad memories" from this period, making it necessary to leave it behind.

Property details

John Mellor have listed the property with a guide price of £1,050,000. The listing states: "A stunning and most imposing semi detached family home standing on a very generous corner plot with extended accommodation, delightful garden areas and parking to the rear accessed via an electric gate and further benefitting from an EV charger."

It adds: "The accommodation is generously spread over four floors including a fantastic range of cellar rooms. The property oozes with the charm and character of its era, sadly lacking in todays more modern constructions, but does have modern thinking improvements such as en-suite bathrooms, a utility area, double glazing and a modern gas central heating system."

The twins will relocate to another house five minutes away, as they are fond of Stockport.
