Luxury Car Dealership Plans Bolton Travis Perkins Site Takeover

ZG Prestige has submitted a planning application to transform the former Travis Perkins site in Bolton town centre into a luxury car showroom. The company, which sells high-end vehicles including Bentley, Lamborghini, Porsche, Land Rover, and Audi, intends to change the use of the large site on Bark Street.

Showroom and MOT Centre Plans

A design and access report supporting the application says the business plans to upgrade the existing premises for use as a car showroom, including offices, a photographic booth, and storage, along with an external car sales area, customer parking, and a secure car storage compound.

ZG Prestige currently operates from premises on Shepherd Cross Street. The report describes how the existing building will be overclad in black with gold trims and gold logo signage to present a modern aesthetic. The first floor can be partially removed to provide a glass balustrade and access to administrative functions, maximising the car sales and display area at ground floor.

Site Location and Regeneration

Following the showroom setup, the applicant intends to build a four-bay MOT service centre to complement the main business. The planning report notes the site is ideally located for ZG, offering an out-of-town location with easy access to major road networks including the A6, A666, and the M6 and M61 motorways.

The proposals are said to significantly enhance the appearance of the site, which is located in an identified regeneration area of Bolton town centre. Bolton planners will decide on the plans in the coming weeks. In 2024, ZG Prestige was named runners-up in the Car Dealer awards for the 51-100 cars category.
