Liverpool John Lennon Airport is advising passengers travelling during the busy summer holidays to consider booking its Fast Track Security service to skip queues and reach the departure lounge faster. The service costs £6 when pre-booked online for adults and children aged 2 to 17, with infants going free, saving 50% compared to the walk-up rate.
Fast Track Security Benefits
According to the airport's website, the Fast Track Security lanes offer “complete peace of mind” and give passengers “more time to enjoy relaxing in the departure lounge before your flight.” The airport notes that while it prides itself on having some of the shortest queuing times in the UK, queues can develop during peak periods, particularly early mornings, due to the volume of passengers and baggage being screened.
Arrival Time Recommendations
The airport also advises passengers to allow plenty of time when travelling. For short-haul flights, passengers should arrive two to two-and-a-half hours before departure. For long-haul flights, the recommendation is four hours ahead. The airport stresses that arriving early helps reduce stress and ensures enough time for parking, check-in, and security.
Summer Holiday Travel Tips
With the summer holidays being a busy period, the airport shares these tips on its website to help passengers enjoy hassle-free travel. The Fast Track option is highlighted as a way to “skip queues, save time, relax and enjoy.”
