Gateshead Council has received a range of planning applications during October, including proposals to convert a former public house into a house in multiple occupation (HMO) and to build a new drive-thru coffee unit.
The applications, which remain undecided, cover projects from new homes in former pubs to a new car park and a day nursery.
The Schooner pub to HMO
A proposal has been submitted for the change of use of The Schooner public house on South Shore Road, Gateshead Quays, to a House in Multiple Occupation.
The pub, located at NE8 3AF, would be converted under the plans.
Drive-thru and EV charging hub
Another application seeks permission for a new vehicular access, the erection of an EV charging hub, a drive-through coffee unit and associated works.
The site is at Land At Derwenthaugh Road/A694, Swalwell, Blaydon.
New car park and other proposals
A separate application proposes the construction of a new car park and associated landscaping at The Arrowmark Home Improvements Stadium, Durham Road, Birtley, DH3 2QW.
Other applications include the use of land mainly as an allotment at 7 Moor View, Ryton, NE40 3TP.
A change of use from indoor children's soft play to a Day Nursery is proposed at The Castle, St Hildas Church, Stella Road, Ryton, NE21 4NN.
Finally, a part change of use of the vacant first and second floors of The Bisley Hotel on Shibdon Road, Blaydon, NE21 5AF, would form five self-contained apartments, comprising three 2-bedroom units and two 1-bedroom units.
All planning applications, traffic diversions, road layout changes, alcohol licence applications and more in the North East can be found on the Public Notices Portal.
