Amy Mitchell exit confirmed after Craig's violent death

Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) has taken action to defend herself from Craig Ingram (Matthew James Bailey) in EastEnders, resulting in his death. The storyline sees Amy leave Walford to recover with family after the traumatic events.

Amy's manipulation by Craig

Amy was groomed by disgraced detective Craig, who first encountered her while investigating the attack on Joel Marshall (Max Murray). When Amy confessed to the crime, Craig used her admission to manipulate her into trusting only him, claiming he had her best interests at heart.

Craig was suspended from his job due to his treatment of female colleagues, but he told Amy he lost his job after protecting her. Knowing his financial troubles, Amy said she would access her inheritance early so they could flee Walford and start afresh elsewhere.

Violent confrontation and aftermath

With help from Max Branning (Jake Wood), Amy accessed the funds and left the Square with Craig, much to the horror of her dad Jack (Scott Maslen). Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky) returned to help Jack find Amy.

As Amy began to see the truth, she tried to avoid another violent outburst from Craig by locking herself in the bathroom. When Craig pushed his way in, Amy struck him with a candlestick. In upcoming episodes, Amy remains overwhelmed by what she has done and falls out with Jack and Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman).

Leaving Walford

When Sean finds Amy, he encourages her to take time away from Walford, but Jack arrives and orders her home. It is Denise Fox (Diane Parish) who makes Jack see sense, and they arrange for Amy to stay with family away from Walford while she recovers.

Reflecting on Sean's feelings for Amy, Rob Kazinsky recently shared: 'Sean never stopped thinking of Amy as his child, he held her in his arms as his daughter and finding out she wasn't his was the hardest thing that ever happened to him.'

'He will protect her and love her as only a father ever could. He swore to Roxy that he would do so and nothing stops him keeping promises to Roxy Mitchell.'
