The ambitious plan by White Fox fashion entrepreneurs Daniel Contos and Georgia Moore to create a spectacular mega compound in Sydney's exclusive Vaucluse suburb has taken a significant step forward after receiving council approval.
The £150 Million Property Portfolio
Daniel Contos and Georgia Moore, the powerhouse couple behind the phenomenally successful Australian fashion brand White Fox, have completed an extraordinary $150 million property spending spree with their fifth acquisition in the prestigious Sydney enclave of Vaucluse. Their most recent purchase in April added another rumoured $30 million property to their growing collection, cementing their status as major players in Sydney's luxury real estate market.
The couple has been strategically assembling their property portfolio over the past four years, with previous acquisitions costing $34.5 million, $25 million, and $36 million respectively. Together, these properties form an impressive 4,000 square metre footprint that will serve as the foundation for their vision of creating one of Sydney's most remarkable residential compounds.
Casa del Sol: Mediterranean Luxury Meets Harbour Views
Dubbed 'Casa del Sol', the proposed mega mansion promises to be an architectural masterpiece that celebrates Mediterranean living while capitalising on its prime position overlooking Sydney Harbour. According to planning documents, the finished residence will contain six bedrooms, two car spaces, a swimming pool, and a tennis court, with one of the existing multi-million-dollar mansions being demolished to accommodate the sporting facility.
Stafford Architects, the firm behind this ambitious project, revealed on their website that the design was 'inspired by our client's brief to celebrate a Mediterranean lifestyle on a site which embraces the full panorama and drama of the Sydney Harbour, and iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge.' The architects have been sharing stunning renders of the proposed development through their social media channels, generating significant interest in the project.
Underground Luxury and Grand Entertaining Spaces
Perhaps the most striking feature of the proposed mansion is the impressive underground bunker carved deep into the sandstone bedrock. This subterranean level will house a comprehensive wellness complex including a cellar, spa, massage rooms, and beauty treatment facilities, providing the ultimate private retreat for the fashion entrepreneurs.
The ground floor promises equally luxurious amenities, featuring a sunken pool and spa, outdoor dining area, lounge space, and not one but two cinemas – including an outdoor screening area. Additional highlights include a library, study, dressing room, formal living area, casual entertaining space, and scullery, creating what sources describe as 'like nothing Sydney's ever seen.'
The original plans received approval in April, with recent revisions proposing an expansion of the cellar and wellness floor to create a seamless connection between the gym and tennis court. Woollahra Council granted final approval for the multi-million-dollar development in September, clearing the way for construction to commence on this extraordinary project.
This Vaucluse compound represents a separate undertaking from the couple's $25 million Wentworth Road property, purchased less than two years ago as an investment. Their remarkable property acquisitions have been funded by the extraordinary success of White Fox, which the couple launched in 2013 as a small eBay start-up before growing it into a global phenomenon.
The brand, known for its bodycon dresses and oversized hoodies, has been worn by international celebrities including the Kardashian sisters, Sofia Richie, Hailey Baldwin, and Emily Ratajkowski. The COVID-19 pandemic provided an unexpected boost to the business, with activewear sales skyrocketing by 154% during NSW's second lockdown in June 2021, further cementing the couple's financial standing and landing them on the AFR Young Rich List.
