Eamonn Holmes Buys £700k Hideaway With Katie Amid Ruth's Memoir
Eamonn Holmes buys luxury hideaway as ex Ruth's memoir looms

Broadcaster Eamonn Holmes has reportedly purchased a luxury new-build property as a weekend retreat with his partner, Katie Alexander. The move comes as his former wife and long-time presenting partner, Ruth Langsford, prepares to release a candid memoir detailing their relationship.

A Secluded Northern Ireland Retreat

Eamonn Holmes, 66, has put down a deposit on one of a number of plush homes in a secluded hamlet in Holywood, County Down. The location is roughly five miles from his native Belfast. The properties, which are available for prices ranging from £700,000 to £900,000, will provide the new couple with a base for visiting Eamonn's family in Northern Ireland and a private escape for getaways.

A source told The Sun: "Eamonn loves going back to Northern Ireland visiting family and he’s been after a new place there for a while. It will be the perfect place to build a home with Katie, with no memories of anyone else. They can use it for weekend retreats."

Timing Amid Memoir Announcement

The purchase follows the announcement from Ruth Langsford, 65, that her new book, 'Feeling Fabulous', will be published on 26 February 2026. The Loose Women star described the memoir as sharing "the ups and the downs, the good and the not so good" of her life experiences, which will inevitably cover her nearly three-decade relationship with Holmes.

The couple separated in 2024 after 27 years together. Holmes moved on swiftly with friend and relationship therapist Katie Alexander, 43. While the former couple have remained largely private about their split, Ruth's book is expected to offer her personal perspective.

Property Offers Accessibility Solutions

The new development may also provide practical benefits for Holmes, whose mobility has been affected by ongoing health problems. Since 2021, he has used a walking stick and wheelchair. The source highlighted that the new-build property's potential for customisation was a key factor, stating the spot is "perfect" as the homes can be "custom-built" to improve accessibility.

Meanwhile, Ruth has spoken openly about seeking therapy following the end of her marriage. She told woman&home magazine that counselling has been a "calming" experience that has helped her process her feelings.
