Former Bondi Rescue television personality Harrison Reid has successfully sold his former residence in Sydney's prestigious eastern suburbs, securing a substantial sale price of $1.5 million. This transaction marks a significant financial milestone for the 32-year-old, who originally purchased the property for $1 million back in 2019.
Property Details and Sale History
The sold apartment is a two-bedroom, one-bathroom unit located in the desirable suburb of Rose Bay. Positioned on the top floor of a three-level block constructed in the 1960s, the home offers breathtaking views of the Sydney city skyline, being situated just 8 kilometres from the central business district.
Reid had initially listed the property for sale in 2024 but temporarily withdrew it from the market after failing to attract suitable buyers. The flat features modern fittings throughout, including an updated kitchen, a combined dining and living area, and a spacious private balcony accessible from the main bedroom.
Renovations and Previous Property Ventures
According to property reports, Reid undertook renovations on the Rose Bay apartment after acquiring it seven years ago. This is not his first property transaction in the area. Soon after relocating from New Zealand to Sydney in 2014, the reality television star purchased a two-bedroom flat for $725,000.
He subsequently converted that property into a larger one-bedroom unit before selling it for $745,000 in 2019, the same year he moved into his Rose Bay residence. The recently sold apartment represents one of only nine units in its building complex.
Career Transition and Personal Move
The property sale follows Reid's decision to leave his lifeguard position at Bondi Beach in December and return to his native New Zealand. He has since established himself as a real estate agent in his hometown of Christchurch, marking a complete career transition from television personality and lifesaver to property professional.
In an emotional Instagram post last December, Reid reflected on his twelve-year tenure as a lifeguard, describing it as "the best chapter of my life." He expressed gratitude toward emergency service colleagues, Bondi locals, and particularly his parents for supporting his career journey from the beginning.
Television Legacy and Future Plans
Reid gained widespread recognition through his prominent role on the long-running television series Bondi Rescue, which premiered on Channel 10 in 2006. He further expanded his television profile by participating in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Australia, where he was eliminated in eighth place alongside various Australian celebrities.
While Reid has departed from his lifeguard duties, the Bondi Rescue series continues with plans underway for new episodes following the most recent season that aired in 2024. The former star concluded his farewell message by expressing confidence that "Bondi is in safe hands" with his former colleagues continuing their important work.
