Jaecoo 7 Tops UK Car Popularity, Beats Ford and BMW

The Jaecoo 7, a £29,000 Chinese SUV, has become the most popular car in the UK, according to exclusive data from Carwow seen by Express.co.uk. The family SUV saw a 58% increase in Carwow enquiries since the start of 2026, edging out major manufacturers like Ford and BMW, which did not even make the top 10.

Jaecoo 7 Surges in Popularity

The Jaecoo 7 has been one of the most sought-after cars since its UK launch last year, becoming the country's best-selling car in March 2026. Its stylish interior, impressive range, and low cost have won over customers, earning it the nickname “Temu Range Rover”. Steve Walker, Head of Digital Content at Auto Express, told Express.co.uk: “The Jaecoo 7 has surged to the top of the chart with a 58% uplift in enquiries over the period. The rise speaks to the brand's rapid growth in the UK, fuelled by a value proposition that buyers find it hard to resist.”

Ford and BMW Left Out

Despite being one of the UK's best-selling cars, the Ford Puma did not appear in Carwow's top 10 list. No BMW models made the cut either. The Jaecoo 7's success highlights a shift in consumer preferences towards affordable Chinese SUVs.
