Escape to the Country Buyer Emotional Over 'Very Real' Dream Home
Escape to the Country Buyer Emotional Over Dream Home

Charlotte, a PA assistant from London, became emotional during an episode of Escape to the Country as she admitted her potential move felt 'very real'. The BBC show's presenter Denise Nurse was tasked with finding Charlotte a three-bedroom home in Gloucestershire with a budget of £550,000.

First Property Makes Instant Impression

Charlotte and her son Ben were first shown a property in Leonard Stanley. Upon seeing the exterior, Charlotte exclaimed: 'Oh wow, first impressions are very good! This is spot on. This is kind of everything I would hope for from the outside. It looks fabulous!'

Inside, the wooden beams in the first reception room immediately charmed her, ticking her key requirement for a character property. In the kitchen, she told Denise: 'I love this cottagey feel, it's cosy and especially as a lot of the time it'll just be the cat and me. This is just perfect.'

Emotional Admission

Charlotte added: 'Yeah, I'm almost lost for words, which is quite unlike me, really.' Denise replied: 'A little bit emotional?' Charlotte confirmed: 'Yeah, well, yeah, because this is very real now. This is plenty big enough.'

After viewing several other properties, Charlotte remained drawn to the first home. She told Denise: 'I'm very interested in that first property. I would love to go and see it again, just with a more level head and having seen what else I've seen.' She also wanted to explore the area's connectivity and amenities, adding: 'I can really see myself living there, I can imagine myself in those rooms.'

Property Details

Charlotte's requirements included being on the edge of a village, a character property with off-street parking, and a downstairs toilet. The Leonard Stanley home met all these criteria, according to the BBC programme.

Escape to the Country airs on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer.
