Neymar has spent £17 million on a luxury yacht just days after Brazil's World Cup elimination and his announcement that his international career is over. The 34-year-old footballer's purchase, dubbed Enejota (Portuguese for Neymar Jr's initials 'NJ'), arrived off the coast of Rio de Janeiro state on Monday, according to Nautica.

Yacht Features and Cost

The Brazilian-built vessel, designed by Fernando De Almeida, was originally a cargo ship. It now boasts four Caterpillar engines capable of speeds up to 20 knots. The upper deck includes six suites for guest privacy and a helipad. Neymar joins fellow football icons Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham in owning extravagant yachts; Ronaldo spent £5.5 million on his after Juventus won Serie A in 2020, while Beckham was spotted on a £16 million vessel in 2024.

International Retirement

Neymar announced his retirement from international football after Brazil's loss to Norway. "I tried, I tried. Now, it's over," he told Globo. "I started here; I finished here." His debut and final appearances for Brazil both occurred at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where he scored in both matches—a 2010 friendly against the United States and the 2026 World Cup elimination. He ends his international career with 80 senior goals for Brazil.
