Mohamed Salah's agent has indicated that the Egyptian forward's next destination will be announced shortly, as Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola confirms the club is actively seeking a right winger to bolster the squad.
Salah's Next Club Imminent
Ramy Abbas Issa, Salah's representative, took to social media to provide an update on the 33-year-old's future. "We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season but we may know very soon," Abbas wrote. "It is not our style to have discussions with clubs that Mohamed wouldn't want to play for, just for the sake of noise."
The post follows two earlier statements from Abbas. On May 24, he said: "We do not know where Mohamed will play next season. This also means that no one else knows. Beware of the click-w****** attention seekers."
Salah ended his nine-year stint at Anfield this summer after reaching a mutual agreement with Liverpool to terminate his contract a year early, allowing him to leave on a free transfer. The iconic winger scored 211 goals in 349 appearances for the Reds, winning every major trophy including the Premier League and Champions League.
According to reports, Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal are considered front-runners to secure Salah's signature. However, interest also comes from Major League Soccer clubs in the United States and Turkish trio Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, and Besiktas. The forward's next move is expected to be confirmed in the coming days.
Iraola's Transfer Message
Andoni Iraola, who took over as Liverpool head coach this summer, has addressed the club's transfer strategy following the departures of key players. The Reds have so far only signed Victor Munoz from Osasuna, while Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and Ibrahima Konate have all left Anfield.
Speaking about the need for a winger, Iraola said: "We cannot expect to sign a winger that is going to replace Mo Salah because otherwise we are preparing him to fail almost. I think obviously we need someone in that area but probably will have different skills. He can maybe complement the team in another way and we are working on that, definitely. It's one of the challenges."
The Basque manager also stressed the need for existing players to step up. "Definitely there are going to be changes. A lot of senior players, players who have won everything here have left and we need other players to not replace them but assume more responsibility in terms of inside and outside the pitch. Some of the players we already have here also have to step up. They will for sure find themselves in an even more important position. And also we have to find solutions outside that can help the very good players we already have."
Liverpool have been linked with several wingers, including France international Bradley Barcola of Paris Saint-Germain, Brighton's Yankuba Minteh, Koln teenager Said El Mala, and Lille's Matias Fernandez-Pardo. The club is expected to make further signings before the transfer window closes.
Liverpool's Summer Overhaul
The Reds face a significant rebuilding task after losing three players of vast experience in Salah, Robertson, and Konate. With the Premier League season starting against Newcastle United in just over a month, Iraola is working to shape his squad amid limited time.
Liverpool fans have expressed concern over the lack of transfer activity, but Iraola remains confident that the club will bring in the right players. "We are working on that," he reiterated.
