Noel Gallagher has quit alcohol ahead of Oasis's upcoming tour, surprising attendees at a recent event by announcing he is on the wagon. The music icon made the revelation at the Queen Budapest premiere in London, where he arrived late and declined both alcoholic and soft drinks.

Lifestyle change ahead of reunion tour

The star had previously contemplated quitting to prepare for the shows, which kick off in May next year. During an interview with talkSPORT in September, he admitted they can no longer party the way they did in the 1990s or 2000s and said: "Liam will be off the booze and I wasn't for the last tour, but I might be for this."

At the Queen Budapest premiere at the BFI Imax in London, Noel arrived just as guests were being asked to take their seats. Despite glasses of Queen drummer Roger Taylor's Cuvee Rock and Roll Rosé wine being available from the pre-show reception, and attendees being permitted to bring it into the screening, Noel announced: "I'm off the drink," as everyone in the vicinity looked surprised.

42-date tour announced

The band announced an epic 42-date live tour next year, following the enormous success of their 2025 reunion tour. On Monday September 14, the brothers took to Instagram to share a snap confirming their upcoming shows, which will take place across 11 cities.

The upcoming tour spans stadiums and outdoor locations across the UK, mainland Europe, the USA, and Ireland. All 42 dates sold out over a three-day period, beginning on September 25 this year.

Ballot system after backlash

After huge backlash over the sales system for their 2025 tour, which saw site crashes, dynamic pricing and 10-hour online queues, the band changed tack this time and used a pre-registration ballot. Fans who won the ballot were given unique, non-transferable access codes for nine staggered on-sale windows stretched across the weekend.

More than 10 million fans from 158 countries joined the invite-only queues, meaning tickets inside each localised window were snapped up almost instantly. By Sunday evening, September 27, Liam Gallagher officially posted on X to declare the shows were completely sold out.
