M&S Shoppers Urged to Follow '9am Rule' for Discounted Food Bargains
M&S Shoppers Told to Follow '9am Rule' for Bargains

Marks and Spencer customers hoping to snap up discounted food have been advised to head to stores as soon as they open, according to money-saving expert Jordon Cox. Better known as The Coupon King, Cox said arriving at 9am gives shoppers the best chance of finding reduced items before other bargain hunters pick them up.

Expert Advice on Yellow Sticker Timing

In a recent video, Cox explained: "Yellow sticker discounts get put out overnight, so if you're there at the crack of dawn, you'll get first dibs over all the good stuff." He also noted that a different time of day works better for bakery bargains, adding: "But if you want cheaper cronuts in the bakery, around 4pm is the time that you want." Cox described M&S Food's yellow reduced stickers as the "holy grail" for those hunting for bargains.

New Store Openings in London

The advice comes as M&S has opened a larger food store on Tottenham Court Road in central London. The new location features an in-store bakery and coffee counter, offering barista-made drinks such as iced lattes and magic coffee, as well as a selection of fresh bread and pastries.

The Tottenham Court Road branch is one of four new M&S stores planned across London during the current financial year. A further six stores are set to undergo refurbishment, with the projects expected to create more than 150 jobs. The opening follows the launch of M&S's new food store in Tooting Broadway last month.

Store Manager Comments

Sam Dunbar, Store Manager at M&S Tottenham Court Road, said: "We are so excited to showcase our brand-new store and we have so many more new products for our customers to explore. Whether grabbing lunch and dinner on the go, or looking for the everyday essentials, we have plenty of M&S quality and trusted value products to try."

Dunbar added: "The atmosphere was fantastic at opening and we had a queue of customers waiting to take a look inside. A massive thanks to my team for all their hard work getting the store ready and it's been brilliant to welcome 17 new colleagues."
