With the transfer window now officially open, Everton supporters are hoping to see a number of signings to lift morale after a disappointing end to the 2025-26 season. A run of seven games without a win saw the Blues slip from European contention to 13th place.
Key Targets for a Dream Window
Hayden Hackney
The Middlesbrough midfielder ticks many boxes: young, excellent ball carrier, progressive passer, and keen to join Everton. However, with David Moyes already well-stocked in midfield, signing Hackney may require selling players like Carlos Alcaraz or Tim Iroegbunam.
Right-Back Priority
With Nathan Patterson likely leaving and Seamus Coleman retiring, a new right-back is essential. Targets include Raoul Bellanova, Guela Doue, or Aaron Wan-Bissaka. An adventurous left-back may also be needed to complement Vitalii Mykolenko.
Jack Grealish Return
The Manchester City loanee was a huge success before injury ended his season. He remained at Finch Farm for rehab and reportedly wants to stay. A loan or permanent deal could be pursued, though his City contract has one year left.
Tyrique George Option
Everton have an option to buy the Chelsea loanee, who impressed enough to warrant a permanent move. Negotiating a lower fee could be beneficial given the £20m commitment for Merlin Rohl.
Remaining Holes
Despite midfield depth, a No.6 like Granit Xhaka might be needed unless James Garner takes that role. A striker is also desired, with Beto and Thierno Barry providing but not fully convincing. Adding both may require selling a big asset like Iliman Ndiaye or Jarrad Branthwaite, but The Friedkin Group is in a strong position to resist offers.
Let the fun and games begin.
