DWP £299 Winter Payment Dates 2024 Revealed

Millions of struggling households across Britain are set to receive a vital financial boost as the Department for Work and Pensions confirms the payment schedule for this year's winter cost of living support.

When Will the £299 Payment Arrive?

The third and final instalment of the government's cost of living support package, worth £299, will be distributed to eligible recipients between February 6 and February 22, 2024. This payment follows previous support payments of £301 and £300 made earlier in the year.

Who Qualifies for the Support?

The payment will be automatically sent to households receiving any of the following benefits:

  • Universal Credit
  • Pension Credit
  • Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Child Tax Credit

Important note: To qualify for this payment, you must have been entitled to a payment of one of these benefits between November 13 and December 12, 2023, or later found to be entitled during this period.

Payment Reference Details

When the money arrives in your account, you'll see the payment reference 'DWP COL' alongside your National Insurance number. This helps distinguish the cost of living payment from your regular benefit payments.

What About Those Missing Payments?

If you believe you should have received the payment but don't see it in your account by February 23, the DWP has established a dedicated process for reporting missing payments. You can submit a claim through the government's official cost of living payment portal.

A Much-Needed Winter Boost

This final payment completes the government's £900 support package for 2023-2024, providing crucial assistance to vulnerable households during the challenging winter months when energy costs typically peak.

With many families still feeling the pressure from high inflation and energy bills, this payment represents a significant financial lifeline for millions across the country.
