BrewDog, the multinational brewing giant founded in Scotland in 2007, has announced a £1 million bar tab that will unlock free pints for football fans if England, Scotland, or the USA reach the World Cup final. The promotion will take effect from July 20, the day after the final, and is available to anyone who visits a participating BrewDog bar or pub wearing an England, Scotland, or USA team shirt. Each fan can claim up to two free pints on a first-come, first-served basis while the £1 million fund lasts.
Record turnout drives promotion
The announcement comes as the World Cup continues to drive record turnout across BrewDog's bar estate, with venues becoming high-energy destinations for fans. Irwin Simon, chairman and chief executive of Tilray Brands, which acquired BrewDog earlier this year, said: "Great bars have always been places where fans come together to enjoy the match, share great conversations and raise a beer or two." He added that should any of the three nations reach the final, "we are ready to help fans celebrate together across our participating bars and brewpubs."
Background of the acquisition
The promotion arrives months after BrewDog was acquired by Tilray Brands, a US beverages company, in a £33 million transaction in March. The deal covered BrewDog's UK brewing operations, brand, and 11 pubs. Administrators confirmed the sale preserved 733 jobs, but 484 positions were lost and 38 bars closed after being excluded from the rescue package. BrewDog had previously collapsed into administration earlier in 2026, leading to hundreds of staff redundancies and dozens of bar closures.
Participating venues and events
The free pint offer is valid at participating venues across England, Scotland, Ireland, and Las Vegas, alongside selected brewpubs in the US. In addition, participating BrewDog bars will host big-screen events throughout the summer, featuring tennis and motor racing. Fans are encouraged to check local venue participation before attending.
