An Australian hairdresser's dream job in the UK turned into a nightmare when she was sacked on her very first day after a client complained about her haircut.
The stylist, who had recently moved to the UK, was devastated when she was let go from the salon in what she describes as an unfair dismissal.
"I couldn't believe it," she said. "I'd just started, and before I knew it, I was told my services were no longer required."
The salon owner claimed the haircut was "unacceptable" and not up to their standards, leading to the immediate termination.
The hairdresser, who wishes to remain anonymous, insists she followed the client's instructions and believes the reaction was disproportionate.
This incident has sparked debate about workplace fairness and the pressures faced by new employees in the competitive beauty industry.
Employment experts suggest that such quick dismissals could potentially be challenged if proper procedures weren't followed.
