Government Response
Airdrie MSP Neil Gray commented: "Adult Disability Payment is making a massive difference to thousands of people across [AREA], providing vital security so they can live independent and fulfilled lives. That is testament to the SNP Government's compassionate and person-centred social security system – one that treats disabled people with the dignity they deserve, rather than a target for cuts. While successive Westminster governments have cut support for disabled people, the SNP will always stand up for disabled people in Airdrie and protect this essential support. I strongly urge everyone who thinks they could be eligible to check and ensure they get the support they are entitled to."
Local Impact
These figures highlight the significant reach of the Adult Disability Payment in North Lanarkshire, providing essential financial assistance to those with disabilities and long-term health conditions. The payment aims to help recipients live independently and with dignity, reducing financial barriers caused by their conditions.
