Mathys Tel produced a moment of magic in the 50th minute, curling a superb finish into the top corner from a cleared corner to give Tottenham the lead. However, the young forward’s heroics turned to despair when he conceded a reckless penalty in the 69th minute. Tel’s attempted overhead kick clearance caught Leeds captain Ethan Ampadu in the face, leading to a VAR review and a spot-kick.
Calvert-Lewin confidently drilled the penalty into the bottom corner for his 14th goal of the season, dragging Leeds level and intensifying Tottenham’s survival battle.
Missed Chances and Late Drama
Spurs had opportunities to extend their lead before the equaliser. Randal Kolo Muani set up Richarlison, who blazed over from a promising position. At the other end, Leeds had earlier gone close through Joe Rodon’s header, brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky.
