Fiat is set to expand its electric vehicle family with five new models, including a larger SUV named Grizzly and a new small city car, as revealed by CEO Olivier François during Stellantis' Investor Day. The Italian automaker aims to cater to diverse European markets while maintaining its focus on small, affordable vehicles.
A New Era for Fiat
Speaking at the event, François emphasized that Europe is not a single market but a collection of distinct regions with varying driving cultures and needs. "One size fits all does not win in Europe," he stated, highlighting Fiat's strategy to offer a range of models tailored to different markets.
The new lineup includes the Grizzly SUV, which will come in two body styles—a practical SUV and a sleeker version—designed for three global regions. Built on the Smart Car platform shared with the Grande Panda, the Grizzly promises to elevate the brand's market share, revenue, and margins. Full details, including pricing and UK launch date, are expected at the Paris motor show later this year.
Expanding the Compact Range
At the smaller end, Fiat plans to introduce a larger version of the Topolino, a two-door, four-seat model based on the Citroen Ami, which François described as a "tremendous success." Additionally, a new three-wheeler commercial delivery vehicle is in development, designed in a "typically Italian spirit."
Most intriguing is a teaser of a new small electric Fiat, described by François as "the next icon." Created in collaboration with designers and students, the final design is said to be stunning and not a revival of past models. "It's literally the next icon," he promised.
Commitment to Urban Mobility
François reaffirmed Fiat's commitment to urban mobility, stating the brand will remain "big and small" with a focus on compact models. The five new cars, along with three mobility devices, will make Fiat showrooms busier than ever, catering to a wide range of customers across Europe and beyond.
