EasyJet flight to Glasgow diverted to Liverpool

An EasyJet flight bound for Glasgow was forced to make an unscheduled landing in Liverpool on Sunday evening. Flight EJU7357 departed from Palma de Mallorca Airport shortly after 6:40pm on May 31, heading for Glasgow Airport. The Airbus A319 was scheduled to arrive in Scotland at approximately 8:45pm but instead diverted to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

EasyJet issued an apology to affected passengers, describing the incident as an extraordinary circumstance outside of the airline's control. In a statement to passengers, the airline said: "We're very sorry that your flight will be diverting to Liverpool. We apologise for the inconvenience. We plan to continue your journey to Glasgow as soon as possible."

The airline added: "The disruption to your flight is outside of our control and is considered to be an extraordinary circumstance. We plan to refuel and continue your flight as soon as possible. Your crew will keep you up to date."

This diversion follows a similar incident earlier in the week when an EasyJet flight from the Isle of Man to Liverpool declared a mid-air emergency and diverted to Manchester Airport after an aborted landing sequence. That flight safely touched down in Manchester at 4:05pm on May 24.
