Grammy-winning rapper Drake has made history by becoming the first artist to debut three studio albums inside the UK Top 10 simultaneously, according to the Official Charts Company. The 39-year-old Canadian, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, released three albums last Friday: Iceman, Maid Of Honour, and Habibti. All three shot to the top of the charts, with Iceman claiming the number one spot on the UK albums chart.
Record-Breaking Achievement
Maid Of Honour landed at number six, while Habibti secured the number seven position. This feat marks Drake's seventh number one record. The five-time Grammy winner collaborated with artists including 21 Savage, Molly Santana, and Future on the chart-topping Iceman.
The Official Charts Company noted that it has been 33 years since a similar achievement. Prince last debuted three compilation records inside the Top 10 in 1993.
Context and Other Chart Highlights
These releases are Drake's first since his highly publicized feud with US rapper Kendrick Lamar, who accused Drake of paedophilia in the diss track "Not Like Us."
Meanwhile, Michael Jackson occupies multiple positions on the albums chart: his compilation Essential is at number two, Thriller at four, Bad at eight, and Off The Wall at 37. A surge in popularity for Jackson's music followed the release of the Michael biopic in cinemas.
Olivia Dean's The Art Of Loving sits at number three, while Noah Kahan's The Great Divide rounds out the top five.
On the UK singles chart, Drake is denied his first number one since 2020 as Dean's hit with Sam Fender, "Rein Me In," enjoys its 12th non-consecutive week at the summit. Instead, Drake's "Janice Stfu" takes second place, and "National Treasures" sits at three. Jackson's "Billie Jean" is at four, and Australian band Tame Impala's "Dracula" rounds off the top five. Elsewhere, Dara's "Bangaranga," which secured Bulgaria's first Eurovision win, sits at number 21.
