Bec Judd Slams Aussie Budget, Claims It Destroys Future

Rebecca Judd has launched a scathing attack on the Australian government's new federal budget, claiming it goes against Aussie values and will hurt working families.

Budget Changes Spark Controversy

The 2026-27 Federal Budget will introduce significant changes to negative gearing, restricting tax deductions for rental losses on established properties. Bec, 43, joins a list of high-profile celebrities speaking out against it.

'I never comment on Budgets but this one has the potential to completely destroy the future business landscape in Australia,' Bec ranted on social media. 'Founders will take their companies overseas and no one will invest here. I'm worried for our ambitious young people who won't settle for mediocrity, like this government seems to want and reward.'

The glamorous influencer added she was concerned about the devastating impact the budget could have on the future of the country. 'I'm worried for Millennials who haven't had a chance to build their wealth. I'm genuinely worried about the country I love. Also, people make big life investment decisions based on the lies politicians tell. This to me is unconscionable,' she said.

Negative Gearing Reforms

One of the biggest points of contention came after Treasurer Jim Chalmers announced on Tuesday that negative gearing will be wound back to only include new builds, breaking Labor's repeated election promise to avoid changes to tax settings that allow landlords to reduce their tax bills. Under Labor's changes, only those with existing negatively geared properties or who build new homes on vacant land will be entitled to claim their expenses.

Bec added that while she would not be personally impacted by the budgetary changes, she was concerned about the wider community. 'Before anyone writes the headline, "Wealthy Bec Judd whinges about paying more tax", this isn't about me, I've built my wealth already,' she said. 'This is about my fellow Australians and our future generations. Especially the bright spark kids who want to create businesses and have a crack. This sadly is no longer the country to do it in.'

Other Celebrities Speak Out

Bec joins other high-profile celebrities to speak out against the changes, including comedian Dave Hughes, who recently launched a blistering attack on the Australian government over recent policy decisions made amid the new federal budget. The comedian, 55, didn't hold back as he accused authorities of allowing criminal activity to spiral out of control and questioned the management of public systems.

'I can't remember the referendum where we all agreed that criminal cartels could just take over the country,' the TV personality began his expletive-filled rant. 'What are we doing, governments? The NDIS is a cash machine for criminals now, it is meant to help disabled people! What the f***'s that about?'

Dave went on to suggest law-abiding Australians were being let down, his frustration escalating as he broadened his criticism to other areas of public policy. 'Why have you let this happen, are you in on it? The tobacco industry is just billions and billions of dollars going to criminals who firebomb tobacconists every single day. What the f*** are you doing?' he vented.

'What is the point of paying tax when it is just going to be stolen by criminals because the governments are f***ing useless? Enough of this bulls***!' he continued. Dave further explained in the comments that he was angry at how the NDIS' expenses had significantly exceeded its budget, which would reportedly lead to over 160,000 Australians being excluded from its benefits by 2030.
