The BBC has confirmed what will air in the former time slot of Beyond Paradise following the conclusion of its fourth series last week. The popular drama, which stars Kris Marshall as Detective Humphrey Goodman, ended its latest run with the departure of character Zoe Williams, played by Melina Sinadinou, who left Shipton Abbott for her travels.
New Programming for Friday Night
Instead of the usual 8pm Friday slot, an extended edition of Question Time will begin at 7.30pm, followed by a special tribute to Sir David Attenborough marking his centenary. David Attenborough's 100 Years On Planet Earth will air at 8.30pm on BBC One. The programme promises to take viewers on a journey through Attenborough's life and career, featuring wildlife stories and reflections from friends and colleagues.
Season Five Confirmed
Despite the bittersweet end to series four, fans have reason to celebrate. Kris Marshall revealed during an interview with Chris Evans that filming for the fifth season is about to commence. When asked about the show's future, Marshall confirmed, "Well, we're about to start shooting season five." He also joked about the longevity of his character's marriage, adding, "I am not gonna give away spoilers, they haven't even written it yet."
The actor expressed his love for the show, calling it "quite a mad little show." The BBC has not yet announced an official release date for the new season, but production is expected to begin shortly.
Beyond Paradise is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
