In a TikTok video, Lylaa said: "People say Wimbledon is expensive, but when the famous strawberries and cream are only £2.85, is it really? I was on a mission to find out if they are actually worth it." She then detailed the process of making her own portion, including picking 10 strawberries and drowning them in cream.
Quality and Freshness
Lylaa praised the strawberries, noting: "The strawberries were very juicy and obviously very fresh. These strawberries are some of the nicest strawberries I've had." She also complimented the cream, saying: "The cream added that silky smooth addition. The cream actually coated the strawberries perfectly without overpowering."

Concluding her review, Lylaa stated: "£2.85 at Wimbledon. Genuinely one of the best value things I've eaten all summer." She was clearly impressed with the price and quality of the treat.
Wimbledon Tradition
Strawberries and cream have been a tradition at Wimbledon since the Victorian era, when strawberries were a seasonal delicacy available only in June and July. The tournament goes through 2.5 million strawberries each year, all freshly picked and delivered daily from a family-run farm in Kent. Approximately 140,000 portions are served annually, amounting to 28,000 kilograms of strawberries and 7,000 litres of cream.
