Three wedding guests lifted and shuffled two parked cars sideways to free their friend's boxed-in Range Rover. The incident took place outside a wedding venue on Saturday night, August 1.
Guests Take Matters Into Their Own Hands
Ben Kitchingman, 34, along with rugby player Martin, 30, and Danny, 34, were trying to free Martin's Range Rover. It had been blocked in by a Mini Cooper and a Toyota RAV4. After waiting about half an hour for the owners to return, they decided to act.
Footage filmed by Ben's wife Rachel shows the men lifting each car and shuffling it sideways in seconds, creating just enough space for the larger vehicle to manoeuvre out.
No Response From Owners
Ben, an automatic door technician from Bradford, West Yorks, said the group first asked the venue to make an announcement over the tannoy. Even the bride got involved, but nobody came forward.
Ben recalled: "There was a Mini Cooper and a Toyota RAV4 blocking my mate's Range Rover in. It belongs to Martin, who plays professional rugby, and he needed to get home to pick his kids up. We got the venue to call it over the tannoy. Even the bride got involved but I said, 'Bugger that, it's your wedding, get back inside.'"
Quick Solution
After another 20 minutes with no response, Ben said, "Let's just pick them up and move them." The three men slid both cars sideways, allowing Martin to manoeuvre his Range Rover out. The whole process took only a few seconds. Ben added, "They're not that heavy really."
By the time Ben left the wedding at around 11.30pm, both vehicles had been driven away. He said, "I would have loved to have seen the owners' faces when they came out and found their cars parked sideways."
