A Welsh pub located in a former railway station on the banks of an estuary at the tip of Eryri has been crowned the best in Wales. The George III Hotel, situated right on the cycle path through Penmaenpool, was named top in the country by the National Pub & Bar Awards.
A Popular Spot for All
It is a popular destination for cyclists, walkers, pub-goers, and dog lovers. The large, traditional-looking inn sits on the Mawddach trail and offers stunning views from almost every angle. Inside, there is a snug bar with a fireplace, a well-stocked bar offering beers, wines, and cocktails, as well as a diverse food menu that includes a standalone tapas menu. The George III also operates as a luxury hotel with 10 rooms, each providing breathtaking views over the estuary.
