Reality TV star Stephen Bear has admitted breaching his sex offenders register requirements by failing to notify police about a trip to Brazil. The 36-year-old pleaded guilty to five counts of failing to comply with notification requirements at Thames Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, August 5.
Details of the breaches
Bear, of Walthamstow, east London, did not inform police about a trip to Brazil last year and failed to report his return to the UK within the required three days. He also did not disclose that he had acquired a new passport and two bank cards during the trip.
The charges relate to failing to notify police of foreign travel on January 17 last year, failing to report his return on April 27 this year, and charges concerning the new passport on January 20 last year and two bank cards on May 14 this year.
Court proceedings
As he left the dock, Bear gave the magistrates' bench a thumbs up, said "thank-you, have a good day," and made a praying gesture. His lawyer, Jesse Williams, said Bear was unaware he had to notify police of his trip within three days of returning. While in Brazil, his NatWest card was blocked, so he applied for cards from Wise and Revolut to cover rent and living expenses. He also lost his passport and contacted the British consulate for a replacement. Bear returned to the UK in April 2026 after his father died.

Bear was placed on the sex offenders register for a decade in 2023 after being jailed for voyeurism and disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress, related to a sex tape of his ex-girlfriend, TV personality Georgia Harrison. Proceedings were postponed because he is to be sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court on Thursday for breaching a restraining order, a separate matter. He will also appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on August 14.
