Prehistoric Planet: Discovering Dinosaurs, a major new immersive show, will transport families back 66 million years to experience dinosaurs like never before at Aviva Studios in Manchester this winter. The event, running from 8 December 2026 to 10 January 2027, blends iconic moments from Apple TV’s Emmy-nominated Prehistoric Planet with brand-new material.
Immersive 360° Experience
The film, created by the Lightroom team behind the David Hockney arts screening, will be shown in a giant 360° immersive experience. Narrated by critically acclaimed actor Damian Lewis, it is billed as a celebration of the natural world through captivating storytelling, breathtaking visuals and groundbreaking technology. Lightroom’s state-of-the-art projections allow viewers to see majestic animals at an awe-inspiring scale, travelling alongside them through volcanoes, soaring skies and the deep sea.
Educational and Entertaining
As escapist as it is educational, audiences will experience beloved scenes from seasons one and two of Prehistoric Planet, plus exclusive extended CGI sequences and bespoke illustrations. The epic adventure is set to an original score by multi-Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer, Anže Rozman, and Kara Talve for Bleeding Fingers Music. It has been directed and designed by 59 Studio in close collaboration with Apple TV and Executive Producer Mike Gunton of BBC Studios Natural History Unit.
Ticket Information
Tickets are on sale now with prices from £20 to £25. Aviva offers a programme giving a set allocation of £10 tickets to lower-income residents within Greater Manchester on a first-come, first-served basis. Concession tickets for students, those on Universal Credit or Pension Credit, and children receive up to 25% discount across all shows. A booking fee of £1.50 applies to all tickets.
